Frequently Asked Questions

Will the colours of my fresh flowers look different once pressed?
Yes, your flowers will change colour in different ways as they dry, and it completely depends on the type of flower. Some pale, darken, or remain just as vibrant, but it is always so fun to see how the colours change!

Will the flowers in my pressed flower artwork fade over time?
Over many years the colours of your pressed flowers may fade, which is a beautiful way to show the passage of time. Keeping your artwork away from harsh sunlight will prevent fading.

What kind of flowers look best pressed?
Bouquets that are full of variety look the best once pressed. This means having a variety of flowers, foliage, colour and texture in your bouquet. Some flowers are particularly tricky to press, but there are almost always enough beautiful flowers and foliage in a bouquet to press and turn into a keepsake!

Can I include items such as wedding photos or my wedding invitation in the frame?
Absolutely, it's such a beautiful way to display wedding photos or stationary to include them in your pressed flower frame!

I'd like to book, but I'm not yet sure what size or colour frame I'd like for my flowers to be displayed in?
That's perfectly okay! The most important thing is to book by placing a deposit, as to ensure I can give every bouquet the attention it deserves I can only accept a limited amount of commissions each week. I take a £100 deposit to secure each booking, and I will check back in with you once your flowers are dried so you can let me know what frame size and colour you've decided on.

Can I post my bouquet to you from another county if I'm not getting married in the UK?
Unfortunately, due to long shipping times and the legal complexities of having to acquire a Phytosanitary certificate to allow flowers to enter the UK, I do not recommend posting flowers from abroad. However, I would be happy to work with a local florist in the UK to recreate your bouquet as closely as possible, which I could then press, so you would still have a beautiful keepsake from your wedding! Typically, a bouquet recreation costs between £70 and £120 depending on the specific flowers used, plus a £30 sourcing fee to cover the time spent securing the exact varieties.

Do you offer UV resistant acrylic in your frames?
All my frames come with standard acrylic, which is more UV resistant than glass, and has the benefit of being safe to ship and durable. With this option, over several years the colours of your flowers may fade as they are organic material, although keeping your frame away from sunlight and humidity will preserve the colours best! I think the fading looks beautiful, and is a lovely reminder of the passing of time.
If you'd like to upgrade to UV resistant acrylic to prevent fading, or allow you to display your flowers in a sunnier corner then I do offer an upgrade to this. The prices for this service are listed here
